Im back baby!

I renewed my subscription....finally. After spending a day sight seeing I have started playing my Fed. Booting around the Badlands leveling up . I must say I really missed this game. I am also loving all the changes which I'm. Still dicovering. My Fed is almost up to captain so I'm thinking new ship tonight.

Game play and real life

I have had some health issues lately and have not been up to posting anything but things are getting back to normal. I have been playing my Fed alt and have him up to commander 8. I have been playing around tier 3 three ships he has a Nebula class, Excelsior, and Akira. I think I like the Excelsior best but I think the Akira works best for my characters class.

I got another tribble reward. I have a “pet” runabout that tags along behind my ship. It does not do anything and it is quite a bit out of scale but it looks really cool. I also got the Klingon version for J’rodd not quite as nice as the runabout but it still looks cool.

NEW UNIFORMS

I have been playing my Fed alts (I have two) I kind of went a little nuts with the c-store purchases. I wanted a new ship and decide I needed the Enterprise bundle, it is a neat looking ship, and the bundle is a good deal as you get the ship and 3 costumes the Enterprise uniform, the mirror Enterprise uniform and the T’Pol uniform all for 1250 points. These were all for my Cardassian character and crew. I also wanted the next gen TV uniforms for my Vulcan alt and his crew.

LEVEL CAPPED KLINGON

So I level capped my Klingon, I started a new Federation character he is a Cardassian engineer, to start off I have him dressed in TOS uniform flying an original Constitution class I figure as I rank up I will change his uniform to match the ship and era. I am already kind of missing playing Klingon though so I don’t know how long this will all last till I go back to the KDF.

STO GAME PLAY

I so loving Star trek online, the weekly last episode was really cool, loved the rewards! I got my old school Klingon disrupter. I have been camped out in Gamma Orionos since I made Brigadier General; I came once back for my promotion to Major General and then once for the weekly. I am so looking forward to my 200 day veteran reward hoping there is something in there for the Klingons.

STO GAME PLAY

It looks like they fixed the PvP Q’s. I must say I am doing not too shabby. I am on the winning side more often then not. The last one I lot we were out numbered 2 to 1 and I thought we did pretty well, held our own as it were. I have actually come though a few matches with out a scratch.

I know I must be doing something wrong in PvP I just don’t know what it is. Sometimes I get stomped other times I am doing the stomping. I think it must have some thing to do with my spec’s I have also been playing around with my weapons load out. I think I may change my shield type I have been running with a covariant shield but I think I read that they can absorb more damage but are slower to recharge.

TRIBBLE

I was playing on Tribble last night. To be more specific I was playing Dabo! It is quite addictive. I was playing to get enough gold pressed Latium to buy a holo emitter for my ship which was 40,000 GPL but I ended up winning 140,000 plus! So I did get the holo emitter to make my ship look like a Cardassian Galor class. But when I activate it I get a activation animation but the look of my ship doesn’t change. I am not sure if maybe Tribble did not patch fully or maybe they only works in PvP. I have been looking to see which is the case I can not find any info I may have to brave a post on the form.

I am not sure if this is part of the last patch or if I have inadvertently changed some thing with my ships configuration or it could just be that I was still doing LT missions and now moved into the LT commander rank missions, but I am finding them a little more difficult. For example the defeat 5 Starfleet squadrons where before I don’t think I even have my shield dented now when I hit the first there light cruisers they actually got my forward shield down! I am not complaining I actually like it I just have to change my tactics and look into upgrading my ships systems.

My Starfleet character was promoted to LT Commander. I promoted all my Bridge Crew and recruited a two new bridge crew an engineer and a tactical officer. Last but not least I got my new ship well ships to be more accurate. When I first was choosing my ship I got so excited or took a cruiser a refit Constitution class which I guess is more geared to an Engineering class player and my character is a Tactical class and I guess I should have taken an Escort ship. I renamed the Constitution the TRAFALGAR I upgraded the bridge to a gigantic Enterprise D style looking bridge. I took her for a spin to inspect my new ship that’s when I discovered my mistake. I whet back to Sol I sold off almost everything in my inventory and had enough to by my Sabre class escort upgraded the bridge to a Defiant style bridge. I then Renamed her The ALEXANDER. Because it is a Tactical class ship they have an extra tactical bridge position which is why I needed some new bridge officers. I also had to train them in new and different abilities. I then took the ALEXANDER into a fleet action and it kicked some serious butt. Anyway Now I have three ships.

So it turns up Klingons can put any bridge officer at any station. So I did I loaded my bridge stations with tactical officers, trained them in different abilities and took the Qu’hit out for a test cruise this morning and crushed a fed cruiser. One of my officers has the torpedo spread ability the other two have beam effect abilities.

I did hear something today about Klingon play that you can put any bridge officer at any station. It was on an older STO’ked pod cast pre game release so I don’t know if that has been changed but I am hoping it has not because J’Rodd will have to warp back to Q’ronos and get some more tactical officers.

on the other hand I am making progress with my Starfleet character. I think I am inches away from getting my promotion to Lt Commander. I am starting to give some thought to what new ship I am going to pick and what I will name her. It is a given I will go with a cruiser but I am not to sure about what class I am going to go with.

I am not getting vary far with my Klingon character I seem to be waiting around for long periods of time in PvP queues and I don’t want to waist my precious game playing time. I did get into my first ground combat PvP match the other day and that was a bit of a farce. Part of me thinks that Starfleet has no honour but part of me thinks its my fault for bringing a Bat’leth to a phaser fight. My second ground combat PvP expedition was a little better I did get a few kills but I did get my ass kicked by what looked like a little Vulcan girl.

I have not played J’Rodd my Klingon character since the weekend. He should probably play a bit more so he can earn the points to get that new ship.

I did not get much of a chance to play last night I briefly went on and took the Crazy horse back to the Sirius sector and took on a new Mission. But that is as far as I got.

J’Rodd got his first accolade for crossing into the neutral zone. I also had my first PvP play. Klingons won the engagement, J’Rodd did okay I think he got three kills. It was kind of cool he was with a group of thee BOP’s circling a pre-refit Constitution class ship. We destroyed it and everyone broke off in different directions and cloaked at the same time it was kind of cool. Vatok my Starfleet character did not fare so well, same map opposite side. I was on the receiving end of it. I was lining up for an attack then I hear the ships de-cloaking and three BOP’s are on top of my ship just hammering me. I don’t even think I got one kill that game.

I got a little farther a head with my Starfleet character. I finished a few missions one last night then this morning I finished an earlier mission I thought I had already finished. Both J’Rodd my Klingon and Vatok Starfleet characters are at LT 7 rank now. I think my Starfleet character is going to head back to the Sirius sector and try and complete as many of the missions there as I can, I believe I headed into the neutral zone a little to quickly. Returning to the Sirius sector seems like a logical decision
